Top Impression Bakery Wolli Creek

**Updated post (Oct 23): Tried the Bolgnese ham & cheese croissant, it didn’t taste fresh, the pastry was soft & not crispy/flakey (felt like it was previous days stock). Very disappointing once again. Have tried a few items from this bakery 3 times over the past couple of months….unfortunately the flavours are very subtle & croissant’s are not very flakey/crispy. Tried both a taro & matcha flavours & both only had the slightest hint of flavour…..items are pricey & also agree with other reviews bread too is more value for money. Not a fan

I thoroughly enjoyed the matcha croissant from Top Impression Bakery. I had wanted to visit this bakery for quite a while, and I finally got the chance to do so. The product exceeded my expectations, a delicious, crispy croissant with flavoursome matcha filling. The highlight, the matcha filling, was lightly sweet and chilled, giving a refreshing quality. Additionally, the matcha flavour was more intense than many other matcha-flavoured baked goods that heavily lack actual matcha.

This cafe really gives a lovely impression with how they present their pastries. Matcha croissant is hands down my favorite —crumbly and has lots of filling inside. Pain au chocolat was rather dissapointing for me, especially after having the matcha croissant. The bread was more doughy and not much chocolate filling inside. The coffee was not bad, but it takes longer than other cafes I usually go to. Until they've hired enough people, I don't think this is a good place for coffee when you're in a rush. I'd also prefer if they call by name instead of the order to pick up the coffee, as it could easily get mixed with someone else's order. All in all, I'll still come back for the croissant🥐

Good & reasonably priced bakery cafe in this side of town, very conveniently located just outside the Wolli Creek Train Station. We came here just for the assorted flavoured croissants & did not try the other bread / pastries. We like them for the flavour varieties, but a big fan of the croissant’s crispy (instead of soft & buttery) texture.

Have heard a lot about this place with mixed feelings. Some love it, some don't so I was sceptical whether the goods will live up to expectations. I was not disappointed. The cafe is right opposite Wolli Creek station and has a few tables outside. Inside it's like an Asian bakery concept where you grab a tray and tongs and pick the goodies you'd like and pay for it. There are of course the infamous Matcha croissant but they also have quite a few other items as well as loaves of bread and premade items in the disaply. On this occasion I chose the matcha croissant, coffee bun filled with belgium chocolate & a blueberry & cream cheese bun. All to be washed down with a matcha latte. The latte was strong with matcha flavour, not sweetned which I prefer and delicious. The matcha croissant was crispy and filled generously with matcha custard. The custard, like the latte was not overly sweet and had a good hint if matcha flavour which was perfect for me as any stronger will probably be overpowering given that there is quite a lot of custard filling. The coffee bun was dense, dark and flavourful and loved the chocolate in the centre, only if there was more! On the contrary, the blueberry bun was super light and fluffy with a smear of cream cheese inside. The flavours were nice but it was a little disappointing compared with the others. Overall really delicious and fast and efficient service.
